We loving this amazing collaboration with the depiction of the Ghana goddess, the Ashanti people (Akan) she is refer to as the Earth goddess as ‘Asase Yaa’. Second only to the sky god ‘Nyame,’ – creator of the universe, her king, – she is the mother of fertility and upholder of truth.
According to legend myth, when a member of the Akan tribe wants to prove their credibility, they touch their lips to the soil. Tradition holds that because Thursday is reserved as Asase Yaa’s day, the Akan generally abstains from tilling the land in her honor .
